The Internet of Things (IoT) refers to a system of interrelated, internet-connected objects that are able to collect and transfer data over a wireless network without human intervention. The personal or business possibilities are endless.
The Sports Engineering & Artificial Intelligence Centre (SEA-IC) is formed in the year 2018. Previously, the proposed name for the group is “Sports Engineering & Device Development Centre (SEDDeC)”. However, after thorough discussion among team members for future research, the name is changed to Sports Engineering & Artificial Intelligence Centre in late 2018. Later in the following year, this centre is officially registered with UiTM Research Management Centre (RMC) as one of the research group on May 19th 2019.
The main focus of SEA-IC establishment is on sports engineering and technology due to the lack of local IoT-driven devices available in Malaysia. Most of the software and technology is manufacture from foreign manufacturers outside Malaysia and, it may cost a fortune. SEAIC had made the initial collaboration with the team from Institut Sukan Negara (ISN), thus triggering the idea in assisting our local coaches, athletes and sports society by developing IoT-driven devices to produce Gold Medal athletes.
Also, SEA-IC aims to fulfil the needs in all industry in Malaysia by injecting the elements of Industrial Revolution 4.0 (IR4.0) for a systematic and comprehensive management manner, driven by people, process and technology. The devices can be utilized in any industrial application such as manufacturing, automotive, construction, agriculture, aquaculture and many more.
