LEARNING GADGETS
Learning Gadgets in CIDL
Centre for Innovative Delivery and Learning Development (CIDL) has provided equipment that can be used as tools for delivery and learning process. The equipment that CIDL provided are ZED camera, ZED Mini Camera, Gopro MAX, Oculus Quest 2, Lego Mindstorm EV3 and Ipad Pro. Below are the list of the equipments.

ZED Camera
The ZED camera is an advanced AI-powered stereo camera developed by Stereolabs. It functions by replicating human-like stereo vision and leveraging artificial intelligence to provide 3D depth perception, motion tracking, and spatial analytics for a wide range of applications, especially in robotics and autonomous systems.
Key Functions:
The primary functions of the ZED camera and its accompanying SDK (Software Development Kit) include:
- 3D Depth Perception
- Positional Tracking (SLAM)
- 3D Mapping and Reconstruction
- Object Detection and Tracking
- AI and Analytics
- Mixed Reality
Applications:
Due to its advanced capabilities, the ZED camera is used in diverse fields:
- Robotics
- Autonomous Vehicles
- Industrial Automation
- Mixed Reality & Immersive Experiences
- Spatial Analytics

ZED Mini Camera
The ZED Mini camera is an advanced stereo camera that provides high-definition depth sensing and motion tracking for mixed reality, robotics, and autonomous vehicle applications. Its functions include creating 3D maps of environments, accurately tracking the user's or robot's motion, and enabling features like enhanced visual-inertial odometry. The camera features an integrated IMU (Inertial Measurement Unit), high-speed data transfer via USB-C, and an "Ultra-Depth" mode for extended range.
Functions of the ZED Mini camera:
- Depth Sensing
- Motion Tracking
- Mixed Reality (MR)
- Robotics
- Mapping and Surveillance
- Application Development

GoPro Max (360)
The GoPro Max is a 360-degree action camera with dual lenses that capture everything around it, which it stitches together to create immersive spherical video and photos. Its primary function is to allow users to "reframe" and select a specific perspective in post-production, giving them the freedom to choose any angle after recording, which eliminates the need to adjust the camera angle while filming.
Key functions and features:
- 360-degree capture
- Reframing
- HERO mode
- Invisible selfie stick effect
- High-quality video
- Stabilization
- Premium audio
- Touchscreen and voice control
- Built-in mounting

Oculus Quest 2
The Oculus Quest 2 (now known as the Meta Quest 2) is an all-in-one, wireless virtual reality (VR) headset developed by Reality Labs, a division of Meta. Its primary function is to provide an immersive virtual reality experience without needing to be connected to a computer or console by a cable, though that option is also available.
Key Functions
The Meta Quest 2's primary functions revolve around providing a versatile and accessible gateway to virtual reality content:
- Gaming
- Entertainment
- Social Interaction
- Fitness and Exercise
- Productivity and Creativity
- Educational Experiences
- PC VR Compatibilit

Lego Mindstorm EV3
LEGO® MINDSTORMS® Education EV3 is a hands-on, cross-curricular STEM solution that engages students by providing the resources to design, build and program their creations while helping them develop essential skills such as creativity, critical thinking, collaboration, and communication.
The system includes the EV3 Intelligent Brick, a compact and powerful programmable computer that makes it possible to control motors and collect sensor feedback using the intuitive icon-based programming and data logging software that is delivered with the set.
